NYE 2016 Party Ideas
It’s almost here ya’ll – as if you didn’t already know! Christmas has come and gone. 2016 is only a few days away. Black ties, cocktail dresses, masks, Champagne, and Sparkling Cider are littering every isle of every store. There are some of us who look forward to New Years Eve while others just wish that they could overlook this one altogether. You actually do not have to be alone or feel bad – unless you truly want to be. Life is what you make it. Go out with some of the girls and meet someone new. If you are wanting to throw an impromptu gathering, here are some party ideas to get you through. Put your inner Suzy homemaker or inner party planner into action.
Let’s start with a theme: Black & White Cocktail
this shouldn’t be difficult. Guys and girl’s have something black and white in our closets. A lot of guys own a pair of black pants and a white shirt or a black suit. The same goes for girls. We own a black skirt, pantsuit, or dress, and a black pair of pumps. Masks are sold everywhere. You can check party stores, and a few department stores.
Invitation: Always start with a great invitation. I made this one myself (see below) and you can have them printed off at Fed Ex Kinko’s or Walgreens as a photo to keep as a memento, or since this is short notice, send it as an email blast.
Step One – Decor:
· Create a color scheme: In this case, I have chosen silver, gold, black and white
- Table runners, Giant wedding balloons, streamers, paper lanterns, food stations, drink stations, led candles, roses, serving platters, plates, cups, cutlery (if needed)
- Set up an appetizers station: You will need a designated area to set up various types of meats and cheeses. You will also require a couple of champagne fountains for maximum allure. You can find champagne fountains for great prices at Bed Bath & Beyond. Some are as low as $29 for an extra large size. You may even find some nice ones at the dollar stores. They are a great investment because you can use them after the party as well.
Step Two – Menu:
Have an array of appetizers, cheese and vegetable trays, etc. Make sure your bar is stocked to accommodate everyone. don’t forget the bottled water, coke, and ginger ale.
Step Three: Great Music & Conversation:
Always have a nice playlist. If you can find a dj at such a short notice, hire him/her. Inviting the right people will spark good conversation because everyone will be comfortable.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a great time ringing in the New Year.
