Hello Everyone. I trust that each of you have had a great week. As some of you know, I love to end the week with a quote.
Sometimes that’s all you have when you have nothing else. If you have it , you have everything.” – Unknown
What made me think of this quote is an interview that I watched last night. Robin Roberts interviewed Amanda Berry and Gina De Jesus – the two young Cleveland women who were kidnapped and held captive by Ariel Castro for ten years. Michelle Knight was also kidnapped and held captive but was not a part of this dialogue.
After watching this interview, I was literally awestruck. The things that these women endured, I cannot even fathom. Throughout it all, they still held on to their faith and optimism during such an ominous ordeal.
The most bizarre thing that I observed was that their kidnapper gave them a stencil of the word “hope” to trace. I am assuming that it was given to them to help pass time during their captivity. (Side bar: The only thing that I can say regarding this is Wow – Just – Wow!)
The most important takeaway is, maintaining hope and never giving up is always extremely hard. However, if things are not working for you right away, it doesn’t mean that it won’t – don’t ever give up on yourself – even on your darkest days.
